The Damon system, as with conventional brackets, offers different types of materials, thus finding the options: metal, transparent and porcelain. The material does not influence the treatment mechanics, but only the desired aesthetics.
How are the brackets Damon?
- In the beginning, impressions are taken in the patient’s mouth to make a model of eschayola on which, subsequently, the bracks are cemented. For this purpose, the X-ray performed in the orthodontic study is used as a guide.
- ATransfer splint. That is, a case made of thermomodelable plastic that allows us to perform the indirect cemented.
- Once the patient comes to the clinic,the surface of the tooth is preparedto improve the adherence of the bracket. The dental piece is washed and dried and then applied to the surface of the dental piece.
- Adhesive is also added to the bracket surface and the transfer splint is positioned on the tooth. It is polymerized with the help of a specific lamp for this process.
- Finally, the orthodontist will remove the transfer splint and clean the excess composite.
