Recovers light from a dark tooth from the inside
In Clinica Torres we indicate the internal whitening in non-vital or previously endodonciated teeth that have changed color, applying a controlled clinical protocol to improve their tone safely and naturally.

Characteristics whitening
Internal
It consists of the whitening of a non-vital tooth with a discoloration.
- Improvement of the tooth aspect: It allows the whitening of those parts that have been treated with an endodontics and which have been darkened due to this treatment.
- Cash: With this treatment the external whitening of the dental piece becomes effective.
- Aesthetic benefits: Improvement of the patient’s self-esteem by getting a whiter tooth.
WhiteningInternal
Theinternal dental whiteningis a treatment option we use to solve cases where a non-vital tooth has experienced color variations. These variations are presented asdark discoloration, produced by endodontics, pulpar death (nerve) or residues of tooth- pulpar tissue within the dental duct.
In particular, the technique used by the dentist will be to remove the entry where endodontics has been performed and to place within the piece a dental paste that works as awhitening agent to give the natural color again to the teeth.

How is ainternal whitening?
- General cleaning:Where the agents that cause discoloration (including necrotic tissue) are removed from the chamber. The dentine is also prepared with a milling of its walls and an engraving with phosphoric acid to insert the whitening paste. Finally, it is completed by hygienizing with acetone or chloroform (as the case may be).
- Insertion of the bleaching agent:Directly in the pulpar chamber by choosing two techniques that depend on the degree of discoloration (or the diagnosis of the dentist). The first consists of the insertion of the bleach at that time with the corresponding instruments. The second is through prolonged treatment where the bleach is placed for an average time of 48 to 72 hours.
- Part sanitation:Where treatment effectiveness is evaluated and the bleach is removed for general aesthetic restoration and thus the intervention is completed.

The importance of yoursmile
In Clínica Torres we have more than 30 years of experience in dentistry. We have always developed the best techniques in dental endodontics.
The importance of endodontics is that it aims to save and keep in the patient’s mouth a sick or damaged tooth, whether by cavities, wear or trauma. As a complement to endodontics, internal whitening or whitening of non-vital teeth is performed, which is a procedure in which a product is introduced capable of whitening the internal structure of the endodonciated teeth.
In Clinica Torres we are characterized by the personalized treatment of each of our patients, always taking into account their needs and therefore each of our treatments are adapted to each person who goes to our clinic in search of the perfect smile.

Frequently asked questions
Internal whitening is usually recommended for teeth that have darkened from within, typically after root canal treatment, trauma or an internal colour change. Before carrying out the procedure, it is necessary to assess the condition of the tooth and confirm that there is no infection or leakage.
Conventional teeth whitening works on the external surface of several teeth. Internal whitening, on the other hand, is carried out on a specific tooth that has changed colour from within, applying the whitening agent inside the tooth under professional supervision.
It should not hurt, as it is usually carried out on teeth that have previously undergone root canal treatment and no longer have nerve sensitivity. Even so, the dentist must assess the tooth beforehand to make sure it has been properly treated and that the procedure can be carried out safely.
It depends on the degree of discolouration, the cause of the staining and how the tooth responds to treatment. In some cases, a noticeable improvement can be achieved in just a few sessions, while others may require more time or complementary cosmetic treatments.
The results can last for a long time, but they are not always permanent. Some teeth may darken again over the years, especially if the cause of the discolouration is complex. Regular check-ups make it possible to monitor the result and determine whether any touch-up treatment is needed.
If internal whitening does not achieve the desired result, other cosmetic options may be considered, such as dental reconstruction, a veneer or a crown, depending on the condition of the tooth and the aesthetic result you want to achieve.
