TECHNICAL PINHOLE

The Penhole technique is an advanced periodontal procedure indicated to treat the gums recession, i.e. when the gums retract and leave part of the root of the exposed tooth.

dUnlike traditional gums grafts, this technique does not require taking palate tissue or making large incisions. It is worked through a small access point in the gums, from which the existing tissue is gently moved to reposition it over the retreated area.

This allows for visible aesthetic improvement, to protect the dental root and to help reduce discomfort associated with retraction, such as sensitivity to cold, heat or brushing.

The conventional technique for gingival recession

Gum grafts
