Fillings
Tailor-made treatments. Rejuvenate your smile
Characteristics of the dental filling
Dental fillings are carried out to restore the part of a tooth that has been damaged by decay, and have the following characteristics:
Effective
It prevents the development of caries and, in turn, prevents the progression of caries to deeper layers of the tooth and the infection of the nerve.
Biocompatible material
It achieves a natural tooth-like aesthetic and, compared to amalgam fillings, is more biocompatible.
Durability
It is a material with good resistance to high chewing forces and is therefore a material with high durability.
What are tooth fillings?
Dental fillings refer to a treatment aimed at eliminating caries originating in our teeth, before they have affected the dental nerve.
The treatment of dental fillings with composite fillings prevents the development of caries and, in turn, prevents the progression of caries into deeper layers of the tooth and the infection of the nerve. Composite fillings offer a variety of advantages. On the one hand, it achieves a natural aesthetics very similar to the tooth and is a more biocompatible material. On the other hand, it is a material with good resistance to high chewing forces and high durability.

In what other cases may a tooth filling be necessary?
As we have already mentioned, the most common situation for dental fillings or dental fillings is as a treatment for dental caries. Dental fillings, especially resins, are also used for other types of dental problems, for example:
- To prevent caries, a superficial restoration is carried out to seal deep or difficult to clean grooves and pits.
- When there are dental fractures where the remaining tooth structure is sufficient to support a restoration and a dental veneer is not necessary.
- In cases of dental wear.
- To reduce tooth sensitivity.
- When the tooth shows enamel hypoplasia
- As a supportive treatment in case of aesthetic corrections.
