Internal bleaching

Internal tooth whitening is a treatment option that we use to solve cases in which a non-vital tooth has suffered colour variations. These variations present themselves as dark discolourations, produced by root canals, pulp (nerve) death or residues of dentin-pulp tissue inside the dental canal.

Specifically, the technique used by the dentist will consist of removing the entry where the root canal has been performed and placing a toothpaste inside the tooth that works as a whitening agent to restore the natural colour of the teeth.

How is internal bleaching performed?

  • General cleaning: Where discolouring agents (including necrotic tissue) are removed from the pulp chamber. The dentine is also prepared by milling its walls and etching with phosphoric acid in order to insert the bleaching paste. Finally, it is completed by sanitising with acetone or chloroform (as appropriate).
  • Insertion of the bleaching agent: Directly into the pulp chamber by a choice of two techniques depending on the degree of discolouration (or the dentist’s diagnosis). The first consists of inserting the bleaching agent at that moment with the corresponding instruments. The second is by prolonged treatment where the bleach is placed for an average time of 48 to 72 hours.
  • Restoration of the tooth: Where the effectiveness of the treatment is evaluated and the bleaching agent is removed to carry out a general aesthetic restoration and thus complete the intervention.

EXPERTS IN SMILES

Effective treatment

It allows whitening of teeth that have undergone endodontic treatment.

The importance of your smile

At Clínica Torres we have more than 30 years of experience in dentistry. Always in constant evolution, we have developed the best techniques in dental endodontics.

The importance of endodontics lies in the fact that it aims to save and preserve a diseased or damaged tooth in the patient’s mouth, whether due to caries, wear or trauma. As a complement to endodontics, internal whitening or whitening of non-vital teeth is carried out, which is a procedure in which a product capable of whitening the internal structure of the teeth that are endodontically treated is introduced.

At Clínica Torres we are characterised by our personalised treatment for each of our patients, always taking into account their needs and therefore each of our treatments are adapted to each person who comes to our clinic in search of the perfect smile.
